I’ve been thinking for a few years now about how happy I am about something. So I want to write about it.
I remember years ago, reading Gretchen Rubin’s blog once (she wrote The Happiness Project), and she was expressing happiness about her husband being cured of Hepatitis C. (It’s pretty hard to get hepatitis C actually.)
Vitaliy has had Hepatitis C for many years. It was fairly common in Ukraine actually, back around the time when I moved there in the early 2000s. When we were first married, I remember him doing tests, and trying some alternative treatments because according to official medicine (and what the FDA allowed in the US), it was incurable.
Then a pill-form of actual cure was developed! (I think that’s what GR’s husband took, too.) And it came to Ukraine through some government project (Thank you, government, for doing a good thing and a good job). So in 2021, Vitaliy went through 6 months of treatment. Basically for free. It was simple and painless and didn’t require hardly any effort at all. Just a little bit of consistency.
He’s been cured for just over three years now.
I’m thankful and happy about this. Thank You, God.
